IN 2014-2015

1.ODISHA SPATIAL DATA INFRASTRUCTURE(OSDI)
A Project proposal for establishment of "Odisha Spatial Data Infrastructure (OSDI)" was developed in the line of National Spatial Data Infrastructure and posed to Department of Science & Technology, GOI to enable availability of various geospatial layers of ORSAC& other Departments at one platform thus reducing data redundancy and government expenditure.
2.IDCO LAND BANK PROJECT
The "IDCO land Bank Project" was designed and implemented in a record timeframe enabling identification of about 2 lakh acre revenue land as Land Bank for facilitating smooth and speedy industrial development in State. A Web based GIS database of industrial infra for IDCO and IPICOL is now under generation.
3.A WEB-BASED POWER ATLAS FOR CUTTACK CIRCLE, OPTCL
A web-based power atlas for cuttack circle, optcl has been successfully generated as a pilot project to establish the importance of IT/GIS, its use management of Extra High Tension (EHT) Towers. Based on the success of the Pilot, OPTCL has requested ORSAC for development of Power Atlas for remaining 6 Circles.
4.A COMPREHENSIVE HOLISTIC STRATEGY FOR DGPS MAPPING AND GEO REFERENCING
A comprehensive holistic strategy has been formulated for DGPS mapping and geo referencing along with Joint Survey of all the mines of the State vis-à-vis cadastral & forest blocks to facilitate smooth ground operation of mines by taking into confidence Revenue & Disaster, Mining and Forest & Environment Departments of the State. Further, as advocated OMC has already placed for its implementation and DGPS/ETS joint survey of all other balance 148 mines of the State
5.SPACE BASED SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM FOR IRON AND MANGANESE LEASE AREAS OF THE ODISHA STATE
A modality has been designed for a third party Space based Surveillance System for Iron and Manganese lease areas of the Odisha State and the inputs of 1st surveillance has been submitted to Steel & mines Department for appropriate action. A monitoring Cell is being institutionalised in ORSAC for such continuous space based monitoring of mines.
6.A GIS BASED PLANNING AND PERMIT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR STATE CARRIAGE PERMITS IN ODISHA
A GIS based Planning and Permit Management System for State carriage permits in Odisha has been formulated for Department of Commerce & Transport for developing a road map for district-wise rural connectivity and a GIS integrated MIS utilizing the geo-database by STA/RTAs. The Department has already approved for its implementation.
7.GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGY FOR RURAL AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
Project "Geospatial Technology for Rural and Urban Development" Cadastral Level Geospatial Database Generation for 3 blocks of Cuttack Districts has been generated to enable creation of a dynamic MIS supported web-based GIS application, Grievance&Decision Support System.
8.A PROJECT FOR MONITORING OF AFFORESTATION/PLANTATION AREA OF ODISHA
A project for monitoring of Afforestation/Plantation area of Odisha (temporal cycle 2009-2014) by Remote Sensing & GIS technologies using Cartosat/LISS IV satellite data with ortho-photo generation and DEM contour mapping with a budget outlay of Rs.4.33 crore has been conceived, formulated and being implemented.
9.THE QUALITY CHECKING OF 48,923 VILLAGE MOSAICED CADASTRAL MAPS FOR THE NLRMP PROJECT
The Quality Checking of 48,923 village mosaiced cadastral maps for the NLRMP Project was finalised.The maps are now available in the Bhoolekh site of NIC. Initiated QC of High Tech Survey in 4 coastalDistricts using HRSI and in 5 Western Districts using aerial photograph.
10. A COMPREHENSIVE GEO-REFERENCED DIGITAL DATABASE
A comprehensive geo-referenced digital database on landuse/land cover, settlement, transport and drainage layers on 1:10,000 scale derived from Cartosatortho-rectified data and LISS IV data has been generated with a budget outlay of Rs.2.85 crore under Space Based Information Support for Decentralized Planning (SIS-DP) Project of NNRMS-DOS.
